Homelessness Awareness

Information for Families:

If your family lives in any of the following situations:

• In a shelter, motel, vehicle or campground
• On the street
• In an abandoned building, trailer or other inadequate accommodations
• Doubled up with friends or family due to being unable to find affordable housing

Your children have the right to:

• Receive a free, appropriate education
• Enroll in school immediately, even if lacking documents needed for enrollment
• Receive transportation to and from school
• Receive the same special programs and services, if needed, as provided to other
  students in the district
